BOSTON, MA — GrammaTech, Inc., a leading provider of source-code analysis tools, today announced that CodeSonar® 3.3 Enterprise is dramatically faster than its predecessor. In addition to improved performance, a richer API makes it easier for users to add a wide variety of custom checkers. It is also easier to visualize trends in software quality – management-level reports and custom charting features have been refined.
“Many of our customers are analyzing projects that consist of millions of lines of code. CodeSonar’s deep analysis was taking a while on these large projects. After carefully re-architecting portions of the analysis engine, the analysis time has been reduced dramatically. For example, analysis time has been reduced by 50 percent to 67 percent on most benchmarks on Windows and Linux. For some customers running on Mac OS X, analysis time has been reduced by 80 percent,” said Mark Zarins, Vice President of Products at GrammaTech.
CodeSonar® is a sophisticated static-analysis tool that performs a whole-program, interprocedural analysis on code and identifies complex programming bugs that can result in system crashes, memory corruption and other serious problems.
CodeSonar has long been the software-analysis tool of choice for companies working on mission-critical applications such as satellites, avionics, industrial controls and medical devices. Increasingly, companies outside the safety-critical space that are looking to significantly improve software reliability and security are adopting CodeSonar. This includes organizations developing software for wireless devices, networking equipment and consumer electronics.
